To change the text size on NYC.gov you can use your web browser's settings. Most browsers include functionality to let you increase or decrease the text on a web page. For example, to increase text size using:

In the menu to the right of the address bar, select and set Zoom level. Menu > Zoom > +

Firefox

In the View menu, select Zoom. View > Zoom > Zoom In

Internet Explorer

In the View menu, select Text Size. View > Text Size > Largest

Safari

In the View menu, select Zoom In. View > Zoom In

This dashboard presents demographic information among defendants prosecuted by the Bronx DA in 2024. Specifically, the dashboard includes data regarding defendant gender, age, and race/ethnicity. This information can be divided by Charge Severity and Charge Type by using the filter buttons at the bottom of the dashboard.

Victim information is based on descriptive data provided for "complainants" on arrest paperwork submitted by NYPD in 2024. Arrests that did not include a complainant are excluded from this analysis. All demographic information is based on NYPD reports at the time of arrest.
